Boarding Staff

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Green Hills Academy Boarding is run by experienced and dedicated staff that excel at providing a safe and nurturing environment for students. The program is run by the Head of Boarding and supported by house parents and matrons.

Claudia Holmes, Head of Boarding/ Houseparent:

Claudia is Australian and comes to Green Hills Academy with a degree in Psychology and 11 years of experience in international boarding schools, in Australia, the UK and China. She is especially interested in working with students from diverse backgrounds, including students whose first language is not English, and in promoting leadership, respect and kindness amongst boarders. For the past few years she has been supervising boarding students at a school in Macau, near Hong Kong. She has many interests, in particular in adventure and outdoor activities, which she is keen to share with the boarding students. Claudia is living in an apartment in the Girls’ building.

Andrew Raftery, Houseparent:

Andrew has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Science and a Graduate Diploma in Education, and for the past seven years he has been teaching at secondary schools in the UK, Australia and Germany. He has also worked as a camp counsellor in the USA, as a residential care worker, and as a volunteer in Kenya. Andrew is teaching Mathematics at the school.
